After attending a Creativity in the Workplace conference, Abs realised she could use her skills and passion as a writer to create a platform for aspiring artists. Obsessed with unique perspectives, she wanted to share stories from all kinds of creators—the weirder, the better.
Chaotic Creators is a grassroots business, built by someone with zero knowledge of the business world. We’ll probably make mistakes along the way, but we’re committed to being completely transparent when we do.
We’re currently dreaming big and looking to broaden our horizons. Our plans include creating personalised magazines, hosting creative events, and launching our own beginner-friendly writing and poetry competitions.

It didn’t take long for Abs to realise that writing, designing, and editing an entire magazine alongside a full-time job was... a lot. Luckily, her incredible friend Kate jumped in without hesitation, and Abs didn’t think twice about making her sub-editor and co-owner.
We completely reject the outdated fundamentals of professionalism and are all about building an environment fuelled by fun, creativity, and diversity.
The artists featured in the magazine include our friends, family, and the brilliant people we’ve met in creative spaces. We’re always open to help and new features from anyone who wants to get involved—so if you’ve got something, hit us up.

We celebrate artists who are successful simply because they love what they create. We’re dedicated to building a strong, creative community where everyone feels seen and supported. We're proud to be a queer and vegan-owned business, and we strive to be a safe space for women, people with disabilities, people of colour, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
For this reason, we will not feature anyone who we know to oppose or undermine the equality of these communities. Creativity is for everyone—and we stand firmly with those who embrace inclusivity and compassion. In short: if you can’t respect people’s pronouns, fuck off—we don’t want your business :)

Chaotic Creators Magazine Short Story Competition!
About
We aim to support artists at all stages of their creative journey! This competition is open to beginners, experts and anyone in between. We’ll be judging the winners based on creativity and storytelling—not SPAG (this can be edited later!).
The winner will receive a £50 cash prize (subject to increase if we receive more entries than anticipated), have their story featured in the next issue of Chaotic Creators Magazine, and receive a free printed copy. Second and third-place winners will also be featured in the next issue and will receive a free digital copy.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have your work published in a magazine. Please note that the entry fee for this competition is £10. This fee will contribute to the winner’s cash prize and help pay creators featured in future issues of the magazine. Your support not only gives you a chance to get published but also helps us keep our platform running to support future artists.

Rules
- Word Count: Entries must not exceed 2,000 words (with a 10% leeway). This does not include the title and your name. If your submission exceeds the limit, we may contact you to offer a chance to resubmit. There is no lower limit for entry but we recommend at least 500 words.
- Multiple Entries: You can enter the competition more than once, but a £10 entry fee is required for each submission.
- Content Guidelines: Please avoid using offensive or discriminatory language. Swearing is permitted, but slurs are not allowed. We understand that some communities have reclaimed certain words or phrases, but we are unable to verify this, and in the interest of safety, we prefer not to allow slurs or other reclaimed language.
- Final Submissions: Once submitted, all entries are final. If you don’t adhere to these rules, your entry will not be considered, and no refund will be issued.
- Submission: All entries must be emailed to chaoticcreatorsmagazine@gmail.com. If you require alternative submission methods due to accessibility reasons, please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Deadline: Final submissions must be received by Monday, 23rd June 2025. By submitting your entry, you agree to have your work featured in the next issue of Chaotic Creators Magazine and used for promotional purposes across our social media, newsletters, website, and other marketing materials. You retain the rights to your work.
Free Entry for Low-Income Creators
We understand that the entry fee might be a barrier for some artists, and we want to ensure that this competition is accessible to as many creative voices as possible. To that end, we’re offering 5 free entries to individuals who are facing financial hardship.
Eligibility: To apply for a free entry, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- You are currently receiving benefits or government support (e.g., Universal Credit, Job Seeker’s Allowance, etc.).
- You are a student or part-time worker facing financial challenges.
- You are in a position where the entry fee is a significant burden on your income.
How to Apply: If you meet any of the above criteria and would like to be considered for free entry, please email us at chaoticcreatorsmagazine@gmail.com with the subject line "Free Entry Application". In your email, briefly explain your situation and why you are applying for a free entry. We may ask for proof of income and we will review all applications on a case-by-case basis. Please note that the free entries will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those eligible.
Confidentiality: We respect your privacy. Any information shared in your application will remain confidential and will only be used to verify eligibility for the free entry.
